Switching an existing podcast from another hosting platform to Spreaker consists of two steps:

1 - Moving your old episodes to Spreaker by using the RSS importer. If episodes are already hosted on another podcasting platform, it is possible to move episodes via the RSS importing function. You simply need to copy and paste the RSS feed URL from your current hosting platform into the Spreaker RSS importer page.

2 - Forwarding your old RSS feed to the new Spreaker one. Once the importing is done, all of your episodes will be available to Spreaker’s community and can be distributed with the new Spreaker RSS feed. If your podcast is already available on platforms such as Apple Podcasts with your previous hosting and you don’t want to submit it again, it is possible to enable a redirection so you can keep your subscribers.

How to move your podcast from Buzzsprout

Your Buzzsprout feed URL will be in this format:

https://www.buzzsprout.com/XXXX.rss

To find it, follow these steps:

1 - Access your Buzzsprout account, choose the Directories option, and RSS Feed below. Hit the copy button to get the RSS Feed.

2 - Once done, log into your Spreaker account or create a new one.

3 - Go to the Import Episodes section. Paste the RSS feed copied from Buzzsprout into the corresponding box and choose - or create - the podcast where your episodes will be uploaded.

Finally, you'll get in the RSS Importing Settings page where you can uncheck the “Import new episodes automatically” box and save.

If you encounter troubles while importing your feed from Buzzsprout and an error message is showing on the RSS Importer, it is because your feed is locked, you can unlock it by following these instructions:

On Buzzsprout, in the "Podcast Info" tab section select the "Advanced" section:

Scroll to the bottom of the screen and uncheck the option Lock Feed from Transfer. In this way your podcast will be available for import.

4 - Once the episodes are hosted on Spreaker, you can contact Buzzsprout staff - support@buzzsprout.com -and ask for your old Buzzsprout RSS to be redirected to the new one on Spreaker.

You can find your new Spreaker RSS feed by accessing the RSS Settings tab of your podcast, on the Content Management System (CMS): www.spreaker.com/cms/shows

5 - Once the redirection will be set, click the link to your old Buzzsprout feed. Do you get redirected to the new one on Spreaker? If so, you're done! Just wait for about two weeks: this way you can make sure all the podcatching platforms will update the RSS Feed. Then you can also delete your account and feed on Buzzsprout.
