Using Amazon Alexa to Listen to Podcasts and Live Broadcasts

To be able to listen to shows, the Spreaker's skill needs to be enabled on the device first. You can achieve this in three ways:

  • Simply find it on the Amazon Store.
  • Open your Alexa App and search for “Spreaker” from the Skills section.
  • Use the voice command: “Alexa, enable Spreaker.”

Open the Skill

  • Alexa, open Spreaker
  • Alexa, start Spreaker


Search for a specific Podcast

  • Ask Spreaker to play “PodcastName"
  • Ask Spreaker to search for “PodcastName"
  • Play “PodcastName" from Spreaker
  • Find “PodcastName" on Spreaker
  • Search “PodcastName" on Spreaker


Pause / Resume currently playing podcast

  • Alexa, Pause / Stop
  • Alexa, Resume


Navigating episodes’ list

  • Alexa, Next / Play Next / Skip
  • Alexa, Previous / Play Previous

Play an episode again from the beginning

  • Alexa, start again
  • Alexa, start from beginning


Fast Forward an episode (add time to playback)

  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to Fast forward {Duration}
  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to Skip forward {Duration}
  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to Jump forward {Duration}


Rewind an episode (subtract time to playback)

  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to Rewind {Duration}
  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to Go back {Duration}
  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to Jump back {Duration}


Ask for recommended/featured podcasts

  • Alexa, ask Spreaker what's new
  • Alexa, ask Spreaker what's featured this week
  • Alexa, recommend a podcast from Spreaker
  • Alexa, ask Spreaker to recommend a show
